About us

Purple Macaroni Productions is a small company that focuses on video editing and production services. We have four main areas of service: Personal Biographies, Editor of Home Movie Enthusiasts, Independent Film Editing, and Independent Film Production. We have a small edit suite that is perfect for working on your grandmother's biography, or the next breakthrough Indie DV feature.

Personal Biographies

Geneology is booming pasttime these days. People everywhere are collecting the clues of their family's past, putting the pieces together to tell the story of their ancestors. Often, the results of all this work gets put in a book, nicely presented, then put away on a shelf. Why not add a new dimension to your research? With our personal biographies, we can incorporate the photos, documents, and home movies you have collected into a film that can bring your story to life. And not just a slideshow on video. We will use an on-camera interview as the basis for the film, with your photos and home movies as illustration. We have packages that allow for interviewing multiple members of your family, so it can be a mult-generational project if you so desire. The finished project can be put on an interactive DVD that also contains the scanned documents and photos as a digital archive.

Personal Editor

Do you have a drawer or box full of unwatched video tapes? Tired of fast forwarding through footage of the indside of your camera bag? Wish you had a "highlights reel" of the five hours of vacation footage you shot last summer? We can cut your footage down to a fun, energetic, and most importantly, watchable length, add music from our library of copyright cleared background music, then put the finished project on an interactive DVD. We'll even make a custom cover. Of course, we can make copies on VHS tape as well. And we can make copies of the video for all your family and friends, as well.

Another option is the memorial video. We can put together a slideshow with transitions and output it to DVD or VHS for screening at weddings, graduations, anniversaries, birthdays, and memorial services. Not just still slides, either. Independent Film Editing

Do you know what all these movies have in common? They were shot on some form of DV equipment. Which means they were edited on an NLE edit system like the Final Cut Pro HD system used at Purple Macaroni. We can edit your DV short or feature film at our location, or arrange to have our equipment set up at yours. We also have a laptop for location work. Independent Film Production

At the core of this small company, lies the heart of a filmmaker. Our current passion is just getting its wings to fly. Another Door Opens is a film that looks at families who adopt premature and other medical needs infants. Any family faces challenges in such situations, but the adoptive family has obstacles and issues that are unique to them. One goal of the film is to dispell some of the myths of adoption, particularly the term "special needs adoption." For more information on this film, please follow the link above.
